Mabuhay Energy Corporation (MECO) marked a milestone when it was formally inducted as a member of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) during their 2nd General Membership Meeting for 2023 last June 21. MECO has been an active participant in the Energy and Power Committee of the PCCI since early this year, enthusiastically showing its support for the committee's advocacy. The company joined the PCCI and the Energy and Power Committee with the intent of supporting the organization in addressing power issues that affect business and economic competitiveness in the Philippines. With its expertise in electricity trading and ties in renewable energy through its subsidiary Excell Energy , MECO hopes to further the economic growth of the country through its fervent participation in the organization's initiatives and activities in line with the nation's ongoing transition to renewable and sustainable energy.
Also at the meeting, Sec. Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Director-General Ernesto V. Perez from the Anti Red Tape Authority (ARTA), and Sec. Teodoro J. Herbosa from the Department of Health (DOH), discussed proactive and collaborative measures among national and local governments, the business sector, and other development stakeholders. Their focus was on streamlining the regulatory environment and fostering improvements in the ease of doing business across the country.
