Mabuhay Energy Corporation (MECO) has successfully secured its first partner for the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) with SunGlobe Enterprises, one of the Philippines' leading manufacturers of high-quality, food-grade flexible plastic packaging solutions, serving various sectors of the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market here in the Philippines.

Through the aggregation of energy usage across SunGlobe’s four facilities, the company met the required 500 kW threshold to switch to the RAP. The signing ceremony took place on May 7, 2025, at SunGlobe’s headquarters in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.

Jacqueline Castillo, President and CEO of MECO, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to SunGlobe Enterprises and reflected on MECO’s humble beginnings. “How we started wasn’t easy. No affiliation to any generation companies, nor were we connected to distribution utilities,” she shared. Castillo also mentioned that competing in a market dominated by industry giants was a real challenge. “We didn’t come from an established network—just our commitment to deliver real value to our customers. Thank you for trusting us. We promise to work hard to be the long-term partner your business can rely on.”

Reflecting on the partnership, Mr. Wilson Go, President & CEO of SunGlobe Enterprises, shared his insights on the journey that led to their collaboration with MECO. “During the pandemic, we began exploring options for sourcing electricity through a Retail Electricity Supplier (RES). Many RES companies approached us, but at the time, we had limited knowledge about the industry. If I recall correctly, we weren’t even sure which ones were truly committed. Fast forward to last year, we started actively looking for a RES partner—and among those who reached out to us, it was only Mabuhay Energy who consistently followed through, continued the conversation, and helped us understand the value of RES. We’re grateful that Mabuhay Energy stayed the course and became our partner.”

SunGlobe’s participation in the RAP marks a significant step toward optimizing its energy usage. With the switch, the company now has access to more cost-efficient electricity, enabling smoother operations and improved service delivery to its own customers. This transition also positions SunGlobe for sustainable, long-term growth in the competitive FMCG manufacturing industry.

Currently, MECO actively promotes the RAP to help businesses, especially MSMEs, gain access to more competitive electricity rates—driving efficiency, enabling growth, and powering progress across various industries.
